Forensics and crash measurement
Record a damaged vehicle or an incident scene exactly as it was, then measure it later. Compare crash damage with the original CAD, probe the datums and keep the evidence after the scene is cleared.
What it is
Crash damage and scenes recorded in 3D, to measure after they are cleared.
Forensic or crash scanning records vehicles, scenes and evidence as they were at the moment of capture. We take Kreon scanning arms and Artec handheld scanners to crash sites or repair facilities.
Touch probing records datum positions while scanning captures the deformation, so the damage can be compared with the original CAD to quantify twist and distortion. The data supports reconstruction and structural evaluation long after the scene is gone.

A crashed vehicle is captured in colour in under an hour with an Artec Leo, where a tripod scanner took Origin Forensics three to four, so the scene clears sooner.

Tripod scans of the structure and handheld scans of the evidence combine into one model, so investigators spend less time inside an unsafe scene.

Can a scanner work at night or underground?
The Artec Jet can. LiDAR emits its own light and SLAM needs no satellites. Unlit tunnels and sealed buildings therefore scan as well as daylight sites.
