Artec Micro II questions
Does Artec Studio cost extra?
Yes. The Micro II is driven by Artec Studio, which plans the scan path and processes the data. Studio is licensed separately. The kit builder on this page adds it at its own price. We set it up for you when the scanner arrives.
Is it fully automatic?
Yes. Choose the automatic scanning path in Artec Studio before you start. The scanner then picks the best trajectory and the number of frames it needs to capture the whole part. You can also set exact paths yourself for specific areas.
How big a part can it take?
Artec recommend parts up to 200 × 200 × 150 mm and 2 kg. For anything larger, or parts that cannot be brought to the scanner, the Spider II is the handheld to look at.
How repeatable are the results?
Repeatability matters for inspection. The Micro II generally gives around 2 microns between separate scans of the same part. The material and surface finish can affect noise slightly. Shiny or transparent parts may need a light coat of scanning spray.
What computer do I need?
A Windows 10 or 11 computer with USB 3.0. Artec set the minimum at an Intel Core i5, i7 or i9 with 32 GB of RAM plus a graphics card with 2 GB of video memory. They recommend a Core i7 or i9 with 64 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA card with at least 3 GB.

Yes. Book a demonstration at our site in Cheshire or at yours. Or send us your smallest part and we will scan it on a Micro II to show you the result. The Micro II is not in our hire fleet.
What support do I get in the UK?
Europac 3D is an Artec Gold Certified Specialist and Ambassador, based in Cheshire. We deliver, set up the scanner and train your team. Technical help is by phone or email, with warranty claims handled through us rather than overseas.
