HD Mode: an AI engine for sharper scans.
Artec’s HD Mode runs each scan through a neural engine trained on many thousands of samples. It recognises familiar shapes and surfaces, then rebuilds them with far more polygons. It is part of Artec Studio, so it works on Leo and Eva scanners already in the field as well as new ones.
Up to 0.2 mm resolution
Scans are enhanced by the neural engine into sharp models, up to 0.2 mm resolution.
Thin elements, sharp edges
Small thin features the standard setting could not capture, plus better accuracy around sharp or fine edges.

Artec scanners run on Artec Studio, which turns scans into clean meshes ready to print, render or measure. When the part has to go back into CAD, Geomagic Design X builds an editable solid model from the scan. We supply, install and train on both.

What software comes with an Artec scanner?
Every Artec scanner needs Artec Studio, which is licensed separately. For scanning to 3D print it is all you need. For reverse engineering to CAD add Geomagic Design X. For inspection add Geomagic Control X or PolyWorks|Inspector. The Artec Jet is the exception: it runs on Artec Twins, which is also licensed separately. Artec Studio
What is the difference between the Leo and the Eva?
Both deliver 3D accuracy of up to 0.1 mm and capture colour. The Eva is cabled to a laptop. The Leo is completely wireless with its own processor and screen. It also sees further and has a larger field of view. The Eva is lighter and costs much less.
Should I choose the Ray II or the Jet?
The Ray II scans from fixed tripod positions, giving the highest accuracy and detail in a focused area. The Jet maps on the move, which is much faster over whole sites and in places without GPS. Many teams use the Jet for coverage and the Ray II where accuracy matters most.
Can I combine scans from different Artec scanners?
Yes. Artec scanners are designed to work together, with Artec Studio merging their data. You can scan a large assembly with a Leo and capture the critical features with a Spider II or Point II in one model.
What warranty comes with an Artec scanner?
The Leo, Eva, Spider II, Micro II, Neo and Jet come with a two-year warranty, while the Point II carries a one-year warranty. Warranty claims are handled through us rather than overseas.
Can the cost of a hire go towards buying a scanner?
Yes. Hire the scanner first and prove it on your own parts. If you buy, we offset the hire charges against the scanner. Hire covers the Leo, Eva and Spider. Ray II, Spider II and Point II are available on request. 3D scanner hire
What Artec training do you run?
Artec Studio Essentials is one day covering the full workflow from capture to export. Artec Studio Complete adds a second day on advanced processing, reverse engineering and inspection. Ray II and Jet users have their own one-day LiDAR courses. Every course includes up to three people in Cheshire or on your site. Training courses
