The marks are the work
The small indents and the sculptor’s marks made during the creative process are often what makes a piece. So we capture them. For Poppy Field’s life-size Tip Of The Iceberg we used a Kreon Ace arm and Skyline laser, capturing the figure in about 1.5 hours at a resolution of around 15 microns.
The mesh then went to 3D Printworx, where it was hollowed, rescaled to 58 cm, split with dowel joints and printed in PA12 nylon. From scan to finished print took around seven days, without the work leaving our hands.

FAQ
If yours is not here, ring 0330 229 0175 and ask for the scanning team.
Not answered here?
Ask the engineers who run the machines. We answer the same working day.
Will the scan harm the work?
No. Scanning is light only and nothing touches the piece. Dark or glossy finishes are handled by choosing the scanner, not by coating the work.
Can you scan a clay maquette before it dries?
Yes, quickly. Handheld scanners capture a maquette in minutes, which is how Antony Dufort checked the proportions of several pieces together before committing to the final work.
Tell us what needs scanning
A photo, a rough size and what you need out of it. We will come back with a fixed price and a date, and if scanning is not the right answer, we will say so.
