Scale decides the technology: handheld, arm, tripod LiDAR or mobile SLAM.

How big is it?
From coins (Micro II, Spider II) to whole sites (Jet).

What accuracy do you actually need?
Metrology grade (Point II, Kreon, V-Track) costs more than visual grade (Leo, Eva). Pay for what the job needs.

What do you need out the other end?
STL for printing, CAD for engineering, a point cloud for BIM, a report for QC. The output shapes the software as much as the scanner.
