Two ways of scanning in one scanner
Hybrid tracking
Neo switches between target-free geometry and texture tracking or target tracking within one part. It gives you one continuous dataset.

Wireless
Built-in battery and Wi-Fi up to 6 m from the router, for 40 to 50 minutes of continuous scanning. Thunderbolt 3 when you want a cable.

Colour and deep geometry
5 MP colour, 8 million points a second plus 0.05 mm mesh resolution, reaching into channels and recesses.
Metrology grade
0.025 mm accuracy and 0.025 mm + 0.035 mm/m volumetric with targets, measured against a calibrated reference across the working range.
Fast without targets
Up to 0.05 mm with no targets and no surface preparation. Artec timed a Neo workflow at 13 minutes against 34 for a laser scanner.
Certified unit by unit
Every Neo is tested to VDI/VDE 2634 part 3 on robot-driven trajectories and ships with its own accuracy certificate.
Scan the way the part needs
Neo tracks geometry, texture and colour across the whole scan. It uses targets as anchors only where the tolerance has to hold. Precision follows design intent, much as it does on a GD&T drawing.

Where cables cannot go
On battery and Wi-Fi the Neo works at height, in confined spaces or on site. At your desk, plug it in over Thunderbolt 3 instead.
Switches mode on its own
Hybrid mode moves from target-free tracking to target tracking automatically, so you can sweep exterior panels quickly and then pick up the critical features in the same continuous pass.
Start anywhere
Tracking is robust enough to begin at any point on the part and find its place again straight away if you lose it.
Consistent in any hands
Artec designed the Neo to give reliable data whoever holds it, so results do not hang on one experienced operator.
Into deep channels
Blue-light optics reach inside channels, recesses or hard-to-reach areas where a target could never be placed. They measure them as they are for comparison with CAD.
Colour that tells a story
5 MP colour records part numbers, casting marks and wear on the surface, so the scan documents condition as well as shape.
Your phone as the display
A companion app for iOS and Android turns any smartphone into the Neo's display, so you can see the scan as you work away from a laptop.
Accuracy you can put your name to

Tested by robot
Acceptance testing follows VDI/VDE 2634 part 3, with the Neo driven along set trajectories by a robot against internationally traceable reference objects, so operator technique plays no part in the result.
Two accuracy figures, both honest
0.025 mm describes local detail and small features. 0.025 mm + 0.035 mm/m describes a whole object, where error grows with the distance between the points being measured. Both come from a calibrated reference object scanned at several angles across the full working range.
An independent laboratory
The testing happens in Artec's own metrology laboratory, which works to ISO/IEC 17025 principles with safeguards for impartiality.
Artec targets for critical work
Artec set and verify the accuracy figures with their own retroreflective targets. A set comes with every Neo. Other retroreflective targets may work, but their quality varies and the scanner may not reach its specification with them.
Blue light and true colour
A 450 nm blue LED projects the pattern. A separate white LED with a colour rendering index above 95 at 4000 K lights the texture.
Two batteries in the box
Each battery set gives 40 to 50 minutes of continuous scanning, enough for most jobs without a belt clip or a cable.
Targets only where the tolerance is
Artec's five ways to use Neo, from full coverage to none.

Achieve metrology-grade accuracy everywhere
For first article inspection, targets over the whole part give 0.025 mm + 0.035 mm/m everywhere.

Accuracy where you need it
For reverse engineering, place targets only on the features that must hold tolerance, such as machined faces. The Neo locks to 0.025 mm there. Move onto a cast surface with no targets and it carries on target-free at up to 0.05 mm, all in one pass.

Inspect critical surfaces without covering them in targets
For dimensional inspection, targets go on the fixture, not the part. Deep channels are measured as they are, for CAD comparison.

Measure features relative to each other without scanning everything in between
For assembly work, a trail of targets links flanges, bolt circles and mounting points several metres apart into one frame.
Design and prototyping
No targets at all: up to 0.05 mm, clean CAD-ready meshes and full colour.
Pairs with Ray II and Jet
Neo scans open in the same Artec Studio or Artec Twins project as Ray II and Jet data.
What people use the Neo for
From small, detailed parts such as turbine blades up to jigs, fixtures, castings or assemblies spanning several metres, such as vehicle bodies and aircraft panels.
First article inspection
Targets over the whole part hold 0.025 mm + 0.035 mm/m everywhere, for first articles and golden samples, with a traceable certificate behind the scanner.
First article inspectionReverse engineering
Engine components, vehicle interiors or legacy defence parts whose drawings no longer exist, with targets around the datums, fits and interfaces that matter.
Reverse engineeringInspection against CAD
Incoming and in-process checks, mould or die inspection plus part-to-CAD comparison, quick enough for the production floor.
CAD based inspectionAssembly and installation
Flange-to-flange distances, bolt circle orientation and mounting point positions several metres apart, for retrofits or machine installation.
Dimensional measurementDesign and prototyping
Whole objects in minutes with no targets, giving clean meshes ready for CAD.
Rapid prototypingAerospace, automotive, oil and gas
Dent or damage checks on aircraft skins without covering them in markers, plus flush and gap at panel joints. Worn pumps and impellers are inspected on site to keep downtime short.

Artec Neo questions
Do I always need targets with the Neo?
No. Without targets the Neo reaches up to 0.05 mm using geometry and texture tracking, with no surface preparation. Place targets only where the tolerance really matters, such as datums, seals and alignment faces. The hybrid mode switches between the two within the same part.
Which targets should I use?
Retroreflective targets. A set of Artec targets comes with the scanner. Artec verify the Neo's accuracy with them, so use Artec targets on accuracy-critical work. Other retroreflective targets can work, but because their quality varies the Neo may not reach its specified accuracy with them.
What software does the Neo need?
Artec Studio, which captures and processes the scans, includes scan-to-CAD tools, auto-surfacing plus mesh-to-CAD deviation maps. Every Neo needs it. It is licensed separately: add it in the kit builder at its own price. For deeper work, export to Geomagic Design X, Control X, SOLIDWORKS or PolyWorks|Inspector. If you already run Artec hardware, there is nothing new to learn.
What computer do I need?
A Windows 11 machine. Artec recommend a 13th or 14th generation Intel Core i7 or i9 with an NVIDIA RTX 4070 8 GB. They set a minimum of a 12th generation Core i9 with an RTX 4060 8 GB. We can check your existing workstation before you order.
Can I use the Neo with other Artec scanners?
Yes. Pair it with the Ray II or Jet LiDAR scanners: they capture the whole scene while the Neo captures the parts within it. Both open in the same Artec Studio or Artec Twins project to be aligned into one model.
Can I try one before buying?
Yes. Bring your part and the tolerance you need to hold to our site in Cheshire, or we come to you. We scan it with targets and without. Then we show you both results side by side against the Spider II and Point II.
What support do I get in the UK?
Europac 3D is an Artec Gold Certified Specialist and Ambassador, based in Cheshire. We deliver and set up the scanner, train your team on Artec Studio, then give technical help by phone or email. Warranty claims are handled through us rather than overseas.
