Scan to 3D print

Scan it, print it, from one building. We scan the object, prepare the file and our sister business 3D Printworx prints it in nylon or resin, as a replica, a scaled copy or a replacement part.

Nobody arguing about whose file broke

Scanning in one place and printing in another usually means a file that does not quite work, with two suppliers blaming each other. Here the scanning team and the printing team share a building, so the file is prepared for the printer it is going to.

Replicas, scaled copies, display pieces and replacement parts are all routine. A discontinued part that other people also need may qualify for free scanning and engineering through Scan-to-Part at 3D Printworx.

FAQ

If yours is not here, ring 0330 229 0175 and ask for the scanning team.

Not answered here?

Ask the engineers who run the machines. We answer the same working day.

What can you print in?

Nylon (PA12 and PA11) on HP Multi Jet Fusion, plus a range of SLA resins. 3D Printworx will recommend one for the use.

Is a mesh enough, or do I need CAD?

For a replica, a mesh is enough. For a functional part that must fit, we reverse engineer it to CAD first so the dimensions are right, not just the shape.

Tell us what needs scanning

A photo, a rough size and what you need out of it. We will come back with a fixed price and a date, and if scanning is not the right answer, we will say so.
