Who we supply
Departments across UK universities that already scan with Artec. The same package works for teaching and for research.

Engineering and manufacturing
Reverse engineering plus scan-to-CAD with Geomagic Design X and Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS, on the parts students actually design.

Metrology and materials
Part-to-CAD inspection and colour maps in Geomagic Control X, so students learn the checks industry will ask of them.

Biomedical and prosthetics
Scan a limb, design the brace or socket around it and 3D print it. Anatomy and pathology specimens captured without contact.

Archaeology and heritage
Fragile finds as well as whole objects recorded in full colour and shared as 3D models, without handling the original again.

Forensics
Scenes, evidence and injuries recorded in 3D to be measured later. Artec Academy runs a forensic scanning course.

Architecture and the built environment
Rooms, facades and site models captured to measure, with Artec Ray II for whole buildings.

Art, fashion, film and CGI
Maquettes, props, garments and people scanned in colour for animation, games, costume or fashion.

Central research facilities
One lab, many departments. Micro II for tiny specimens to 5 microns, Leo for anything up to a car.

Software to teach with
Every package needs Artec Studio, the licence that runs the scanner. Pair it with Geomagic to build out your teaching toolkit: scan data in SOLIDWORKS, reverse engineering in Design X, inspection in Control X or surfacing in Wrap. Geomagic Freeform for organic design is available on request.

Artec Studio
Capture, process and export in one package. Every education package includes an Artec Studio licence to run the scanner. Up to 50 teaching licences are available on request so a whole class can process data at once.
