What it is for
Used by seamstresses and engineers alike, on any material thanks to a library you configure yourself.
Seat covers and upholstery
Patterns from the actual shape of the seat, seams included, rather than a template library.
Composite plies
Calculate the plies of a composite part straight from its 3D shape.
Printed textures
Work out the 2D artwork to print so it lands undistorted on the 3D surface.
Anything that wraps
Covers, wraps, orthotics and costumes: any job that ends in a flat pattern.
Design and production
At the design stage
Answer the questions before the first cut.
- Technical feasibility: does this shape suit this material?
- Costing: material area, seam lengths and the number of patterns
- Presentation: render textures and colours for the customer
In production
Hand the workshop everything it needs.
- Cutting and plotting files with notches placed
- Assembly instructions for the covers
- A seat patterned, seams included, in around two hours
Using the software has enabled us to produce some covers up to four times faster.
Using the workflow I created, I was able to successfully laser cut upholstery panels for a custom contoured wheelchair seat.
From the real object to cut panels
WrapStyler works on the true shape of the object. Divide the surface into panels on the 3D model, project your artwork onto it to see exactly how it lands, then flatten every panel with the graphics on, ready to print and cut.

Capture
Scan the vehicle or object, so the work starts from its real shape rather than a drawing or a tape measure.

The 3D model
The cleaned mesh carries every curve, recess and panel edge the graphics have to follow.

Panels in 3D
Draw the seams on the model and divide the surface into panels, sized to your material and how it will be fitted.

Flat panels with the graphics on
Project the artwork onto the 3D shape, then flatten each panel with its graphics, nested on the sheet for printing and cutting.
Case study
The scanners we pair it with
Capture with Leo or Eva, clean up in Artec Studio, flatten in WrapStyler.
- Artec EvaArtec Eva structured-light handheld 3d scanner, for quick and accurate models of medium sized objects in full colour. It is ideal for scanning objects such as human busts, alloy wheels and motorcycle exhaust systems. Eva is Artec's most popular 3d scanner largely becuase is light, fast and extremely versatile. The structured light system is safe to use and an excellent choice as an all-round scanner for capturing objects of any kind, including those with black and shiny surfaces.View machine →

- Artec LeoWireless professional handheld 3D scanner with on-board processing and touchscreen — capture full-colour scans with no laptop or cables. The scanner most of our customers end up buying.View machine →

- Artec Spider IIHigh-resolution handheld scanner for small, intricate parts — sharp edges, thin walls and fine detail, in full colour.View machine →

- Artec Point IIMetrology-grade handheld laser scanner using retro-reflective targets for the highest accuracy — inspection, quality control and precision reverse engineering. Launched August 2026; UK pricing on application.View machine →

- INSVISION V-TrackINSVISION's optically tracked metrology scanner — the tracker follows the handheld scanner in space, so you get accuracy up to 0.020 mm with no sticky targets on the part and no cables. Ideal where surfaces must not be touched, such as automotive clay models.View machine →
