We recently teamed up with MPC Advertising and Efficacy4D to develop the latest advert for EasyJet’s 2018 ‘Imagine’ campaign.
As part of the feature, EasyJet wished to capture 3D models of actors posing as holidaymakers. The brief was to source a 3D scanning technology which could accurately capture the human form onsite at MPC studio location In central London.

Using the Artec™ Eva 3d scanner, a fast and hand held scanner, Mark from Europac 3D was able to accurately capture the actors, transforming them into 3D models with all their precise measurements captured within the computer. These models were then rendered in the advert as statues appearing in the clouds in the dream-like sequence.
The Artec™ Eva 3D Scanner is similar to a video camera which captures in 3D. The scanner captures up to 16 frames per second and each frame is a 3D image. These frames are aligned automatically in real-time which means that during scanning, you see what you have already captured and which areas of the object need further attention.
Capturing and simultaneously processing up to 288,000 points per second, Eva scans a dozen times faster than a laser scanner, while providing high resolution (up to 0.5mm) and high accuracy (up to 0.1mm), essential for the scanning of data such as human bodies. Being both lightweight and portable, Eva was the perfect choice for us to use and the real-time feedback made the scanning process both easy and fast.
