INSVISION V-Track

3D Scanners

INSVISION V-Track

INSVISION's optically tracked metrology scanner — the tracker follows the handheld scanner in space, so you get accuracy up to 0.020 mm with no sticky targets on the part and no cables. Ideal where surfaces must not be touched, such as automotive clay models.

The V-Track, from industrial 3D measurement specialist INSVISION, pairs a handheld blue laser scanner with an optical tracker that follows it in space. Because the tracker knows exactly where the scanner is, you get metrology-grade accuracy without putting a single sticky target on the part — and with no cable to drag around, because scanning is wireless.

Why that matters

Some surfaces must not be touched. An automotive styling studio spends months perfecting a clay model — pressing hundreds of targets into it (and peeling them off) is not an option, but the shape still has to reach CAD at fractions of a millimetre. That is the V-Track job: high accuracy, hands off.

Marker-free, wireless scanning — no target preparation, no cables

Dual-mode workflow: scanner and tracker work together or independently as needed

Large volumes in one setup — tracked scanning across parts up to 8 m long

Carbon-fibre body stays light and stable for on-site measurement

AI feature recognition identifies holes, edges and geometric features during scanning

Large-range photogrammetry captures spatial data and reduces accumulated error

The V-Track sits alongside INSVISION's AlphaScan handheld scanner — a lightweight high-speed blue laser scanner with accuracy up to 0.020 mm and scan rates up to 8,300,000 measurements per second — so a tracked system and a standalone handheld can share one workflow.

V-Track or a measuring arm?

A Kreon arm gives superb accuracy inside the volume the arm can physically reach; moving further means leapfrogging the base. The V-Track covers a bigger volume in one go and slips under and around the object freely. If your parts fit comfortably on a bench, the arm is proven and precise; if you measure vehicles, tooling or anything larger, the V-Track earns its place.

Book a V-Track demonstration — we are bringing this system to the UK now, and demos with your own parts are exactly how we recommend judging it.
